Workspace
How athlete workspaces work in Runtool, and how coaches and athletes share the same views.
Everything in Runtool happens inside an athlete workspace — one athlete's calendar, profile, analysis, and settings. Coach or athlete, you always work in the context of exactly one athlete at a time.
One athlete, one workspace
An athlete workspace contains:
- Overview — today, tomorrow, health, and current training load at a glance.
- Calendar — the planning canvas for workouts and races.
- Analyse — completed training, charted and listed.
- Import — file uploads and activity management.
- Settings — the athlete's details, zones, and how this workspace behaves.
Overview, Calendar, and Analyse sit directly under the athlete in the sidebar; Import and Settings live one click deeper, under More. Each section has its own docs page — start with Overview.
Athletes
As an athlete, your workspace is your home. You land in it when you sign in, and everything you see — zones, load, analysis — is yours to inspect and edit. Runtool is built on the principle that you should see everything your plan is based on.
Coaches
As a coach, you manage a roster of athletes and switch between their workspaces. Every athlete gets the same full workspace — there is no reduced "coach view" of an athlete. When you open an athlete's workspace, you see exactly what they see, and you can plan, adjust zones, and review completions on their behalf.
Your whole roster sits in the sidebar: expand an athlete to reach their workspace, and expand another to move across without losing your place. The full coach-side flow — building a roster, inviting athletes — is on the Coaching page.
Coached and self-coached are equals
Runtool treats self-coached athletes as first-class. The same planning tools, the same analysis, the same zone control — whether the person doing the planning is you or your coach. A coached athlete keeps full visibility into their own workspace at all times.
Plans
Runtool has a free tier that stays free, plus paid Standard (for athletes), Coach, and Pro plans. Paid plans unlock advanced statistics, longer history, and the Runtool Agent. Standard and Coach start with a 14-day free trial. See pricing for the current matrix.
