Search
Find workouts, athletes, settings and docs pages from anywhere in Runtool, with one search box.
Search finds things across Runtool from one box. Open it from Search at the top of the sidebar, or press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows). Results appear as you type, grouped by what they are.
What search finds

Settings match on what they control, not only on their name. Searching first day of the week finds the Preferences page; searching threshold finds Zones.
Where search looks
Search starts from where you are:
- In an athlete's workspace it searches that athlete, and puts workouts first.
- In settings it puts settings first.
- Everywhere else it searches every athlete you can access.
The scope shows as chips under the search box. When search is scoped to one athlete, their name appears as a chip — remove it to search every athlete you can access. The group chips narrow the search to one or more kinds; with none selected, everything is searched.
Searching workouts
Workouts match across your whole history, not only the weeks currently on screen. Three kinds of query work:

Interval notation is matched as structure, not as text — 5x400m finds every workout of five 400 m reps however its title was written. The same notation works in the Analyse filter. See Workout notation for the full syntax.
Dates are written the ISO way, year first. Month names and phrases like "last tuesday" don't work.
FAQ
Why do only five results show per group?
Each group shows its five best matches, so no single kind fills the list. When a group has more, its heading says so — narrow the query to see further.
Can I search another coach's athletes?
No. Search only ever reaches the athletes you already have access to — your own workspace and the athletes you coach.
Does search cover activities and files?
Not yet. Uploaded activities are found through Import instead.
Is there search on the calendar itself?
The calendar has filters for workout type, category and status, which narrow the weeks on screen. Search is the way to find a workout by name or structure across all of your history — open it from the calendar and it already knows which athlete you mean.
